Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Construction & Engineering, Information Technology and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.12% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL), which rose 14.29% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.800 at the close. Meanwhile, Colombo Fort Land & Building PLC (CM:CFLB) added 12.99% or 2.30 points to end at 20.00 and Tea Smallholder Factories PLC (CM:TSML) was up 11.36% or 2.50 points to 24.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lucky Lanka Milk Processing Company Ltd (CM:LLMP), which fell 10.00% or 0.300 points to trade at 2.700 at the close. F L C Holdings PLC (CM:FREE) declined 9.09% or 0.100 points to end at 1.000 and Colombo City Holdings PLC (CM:PHAR) was down 8.98% or 79.00 points to 801.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 89 to 70 and 56 ended unchanged.
Shares in F L C Holdings PLC (CM:FREE) fell to all time lows; down 9.09% or 0.100 to 1.000.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.70% or 0.37 to $52.81 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.70% or 0.39 to hit $55.05 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.67% or 8.15 to trade at $1202.65 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.56% to 189.145, while USD/LKR rose 0.10% to 150.260.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 100.05.
