Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Trading, Investment Trust and Information Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.11% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI), which rose 21.79% or 294.10 points to trade at 1643.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH) added 19.90% or 57.90 points to end at 348.90 and Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO) was up 18.84% or 269.30 points to 1698.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ceylon Tea Services PLC (CM:CTEA), which fell 16.71% or 122.00 points to trade at 608.00 at the close. Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) declined 10.20% or 4.60 points to end at 40.50 and Dunamis Capital PLC (CM:CSEC) was down 9.93% or 2.70 points to 24.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 106 to 62 and 59 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.55% or 0.74 to $46.88 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 1.64% or 0.82 to hit $49.17 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.29% or 3.85 to trade at $1337.75 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.30% to 193.920, while USD/LKR rose 0.19% to 145.785.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 95.03.
