Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals and Beverages & Tobacco sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.91% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Colombo Investment Trust PLC (CM:CIT), which rose 17.65% or 15.00 points to trade at 100.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) added 14.29% or 0.100 points to end at 0.800 and Kotmale Holdings PLC (CM:LAMB) was up 14.17% or 20.60 points to 166.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which fell 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.100 at the close. Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND) declined 18.73% or 311.20 points to end at 1350.00 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was down 14.29% or 0.1000 points to 0.6000.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 158 to 67 and 37 ended unchanged.
Shares in PC House PLC (CM:PCHO) fell to all time lows; losing 50.00% or 0.100 to 0.100. Shares in Kotmale Holdings PLC (CM:LAMB) rose to all time highs; rising 14.17% or 20.60 to 166.00.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.94% or 0.48 to $51.33 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 1.04% or 0.55 to hit $53.48 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.30% or 3.90 to trade at $1279.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.03% to 195.045, while USD/LKR fell 0.24% to 152.110.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 99.47.
