Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Footwear & Textile, Investment Trust and Plantations sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.85% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 33.33% or 0.2000 points to trade at 0.8000 at the close. Meanwhile, Kotmale Holdings PLC (CM:LAMB) added 24.34% or 50.90 points to end at 260.00 and Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD) was up 16.13% or 250.00 points to 1800.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which fell 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.100 at the close. Udapussellawa Plantations PLC (CM:UDPL) declined 9.78% or 2.20 points to end at 20.30 and Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR) was down 9.09% or 0.100 points to 1.000.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 157 to 41 and 51 ended unchanged.
Shares in PC House PLC (CM:PCHO) fell to all time lows; losing 50.00% or 0.100 to 0.100. Shares in Kotmale Holdings PLC (CM:LAMB) rose to all time highs; up 24.34% or 50.90 to 260.00. Shares in Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD) rose to 52-week highs; up 16.13% or 250.00 to 1800.00.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.81% or 0.40 to $49.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.90% or 0.47 to hit $51.94 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.09% or 1.11 to trade at $1265.31 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.60% to 196.555, while USD/LKR rose 0.12% to 152.390.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 98.89.
