Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Diversified Holdings, Footwear & Textile and Beverages & Tobacco sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.36%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Hikkaduwa Beach Resort Ltd (CM:CITH), which rose 28.57% or 4.00 points to trade at 18.00 at the close. Meanwhile, J L Morison Sons & Jones (Ceylon) PLC (CM:MORI) added 21.15% or 89.90 points to end at 515.00 and Kalpitiya Beach Resort PLC (CM:CITK) was up 15.79% or 0.600 points to 4.400 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC (CM:SWAD), which fell 24.81% or 3350.00 points to trade at 10150.00 at the close. Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) declined 13.03% or 10.80 points to end at 72.10 and Trade Finance & Investments PLC (CM:TFIL) was down 10.89% or 4.90 points to 40.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 108 to 78 and 56 ended unchanged.
Shares in Hikkaduwa Beach Resort Ltd (CM:CITH) rose to 52-week highs; up 28.57% or 4.00 to 18.00. Shares in J L Morison Sons & Jones (Ceylon) PLC (CM:MORI) rose to all time highs; up 21.15% or 89.90 to 515.00.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.58% or 0.26 to $44.72 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.94% or 0.44 to hit $47.36 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.35% or 4.37 to trade at $1258.97 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.12% to 195.145, while USD/LKR rose 0.12% to 152.940.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 97.31.
