Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Information Technology, Plantations and Footwear & Textile sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.18% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 100.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Watawala Plantations PLC (CM:WATA) added 18.60% or 4.00 points to end at 25.50 and Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH) was up 13.73% or 41.90 points to 347.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ), which fell 9.97% or 199.30 points to trade at 1800.00 at the close. On`ally Holdings PLC (CM:ONAL) declined 8.60% or 5.60 points to end at 59.50 and Lake House Printers and Publishers PLC (CM:LPRT) was down 7.93% or 9.90 points to 115.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 149 to 87 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Watawala Plantations PLC (CM:WATA) rose to 3-years highs; rising 18.60% or 4.00 to 25.50.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.09% or 0.04 to $49.23 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.13% or 0.07 to hit $56.05 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.82% or 9.00 to trade at $1100.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.03% to 208.820, while USD/LKR fell 0.06% to 133.730.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.47% at 97.17.
