Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Diversified Holdings, Land & Property and Beverages & Tobacco sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 20.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.6000 at the close. Meanwhile, Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) added 19.71% or 6.90 points to end at 41.90 and Chilaw Finance PLC (CM:CHIL) was up 18.78% or 3.40 points to 21.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO), which fell 19.56% or 279.60 points to trade at 1150.00 at the close. Odel PLC (CM:ODEL) declined 13.60% or 3.10 points to end at 19.70 and Tangerine Beach Hotels PLC (CM:TANG) was down 12.60% or 7.80 points to 54.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 88 to 68 and 51 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.87% or 0.47 to $53.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 1.16% or 0.65 to hit $55.59 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.63% or 7.45 to trade at $1182.35 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.18% to 189.665, while USD/LKR rose 0.39% to 151.110.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 100.68.
