Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Building & Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 1.61%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Endesa (MC:ELE), which rose 0.98% or 0.180 points to trade at 18.605 at the close. Meanwhile, Indra A (MC:IDR) added 0.13% or 0.015 points to end at 11.785 and Acerinox (MC:ACX) was up 0.09% or 0.010 points to 11.135 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which fell 3.48% or 0.182 points to trade at 5.053 at the close. B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) declined 3.17% or 0.039 points to end at 1.190 and Telefonica (MC:TEF) was down 3.00% or 0.285 points to 9.215.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 140 to 47 and 24 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.11% or 1.45 to $1327.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.68% or 1.24 to hit $45.05 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.19% or 1.06 to trade at $47.26 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.01% to 1.1234, while EUR/GBP rose 1.14% to 0.8520.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.33% at 95.43.
