Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.94%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols SA (MC:GRLS), which rose 0.79% or 0.195 points to trade at 24.965 at the close. Meanwhile, Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) added 0.77% or 0.13 points to end at 17.11 and Melia Hotels (MC:MEL) was up 0.69% or 0.090 points to 13.180 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mapfre (MC:MAP), which fell 4.84% or 0.156 points to trade at 3.065 at the close. Banco Santander (MC:SAN) declined 3.69% or 0.220 points to end at 5.738 and Bankia (MC:BKIA) was down 2.46% or 0.026 points to 1.029.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 130 to 51 and 19 ended unchanged.
Shares in Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) rose to 52-week highs; up 0.77% or 0.13 to 17.11.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.45% or 5.67 to $1253.03 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.77% or 0.38 to hit $49.45 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.73% or 0.38 to trade at $52.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.28% to 1.1128, while EUR/GBP fell 0.51% to 0.8561.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 97.52.
