Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.33%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols SA (MC:GRLS), which rose 1.30% or 0.305 points to trade at 23.700 at the close. Meanwhile, Inditex (MC:ITX) added 1.27% or 0.430 points to end at 34.325 and Viscofan (MC:VIS) was up 1.17% or 0.590 points to 50.850 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Popular (MC:POP), which fell 3.63% or 0.023 points to trade at 0.611 at the close. B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) declined 1.37% or 0.022 points to end at 1.586 and Banco Santander (MC:SAN) was down 1.37% or 0.076 points to 5.487.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 80 to 71 and 20 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) rose to 3-years highs; up 1.30% or 0.305 to 23.700. Shares in Banco Popular (MC:POP) fell to all time lows; falling 3.63% or 0.023 to 0.611. Shares in Inditex (MC:ITX) rose to 52-week highs; rising 1.27% or 0.430 to 34.325.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.69% or 8.85 to $1286.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.24% or 0.13 to hit $52.98 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.43% or 0.24 to trade at $55.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.38% to 1.0625, while EUR/GBP fell 0.26% to 0.8485.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 100.38.
