Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Consumer Services and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Enagas (MC:ENAG), which rose 1.66% or 0.380 points to trade at 23.280 at the close. Meanwhile, Red Electrica Corporacion SA (MC:REE) added 1.10% or 0.190 points to end at 17.390 and Gamesa (MC:GAM) was up 0.71% or 0.155 points to 21.830 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Telefonica (MC:TEF), which fell 1.27% or 0.135 points to trade at 10.465 at the close. Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) declined 1.04% or 0.17 points to end at 15.68 and Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) was down 0.99% or 0.052 points to 5.190.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 89 to 71 and 20 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gamesa (MC:GAM) rose to 5-year highs; up 0.71% or 0.155 to 21.830.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.29% or 3.55 to $1233.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.49% or 0.24 to hit $49.07 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $51.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.05% to 1.0743, while EUR/GBP rose 0.40% to 0.8697.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 100.16.
