Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Building & Construction and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 3.41%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Int.Airl.Grp (MC:ICAG), which rose 8.55% or 0.519 points to trade at 6.589 at the close. Meanwhile, Ferrovial (MC:FER) added 7.17% or 1.245 points to end at 18.615 and Indra A (MC:IDR) was up 5.40% or 0.501 points to 9.773 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gamesa (MC:GAM), which fell 0.33% or 0.060 points to trade at 18.000 at the close. FCC (MC:FCC) added 0.21% or 0.016 points to end at 7.589 and Red Electrica Corp. (MC:REE) was up 0.91% or 0.710 points to 78.800.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 181 to 23 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.40% or 5.15 to $1289.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.68% or 1.30 to hit $49.86 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 2.70% or 1.33 to trade at $50.50 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.28% to 1.1309, while EUR/GBP fell 1.94% to 0.7701.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.57% at 93.76.
