Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Services and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 1.46%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols (MADRID:GRLS), which rose 3.01% or 1.060 points to trade at 36.285 at the close. Meanwhile, Abengoa B (MADRID:ABGek) added 2.77% or 0.083 points to end at 3.078 and Gamesa (MADRID:GAM) was up 2.62% or 0.345 points to 13.490 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Obrascon Huarte Lain (MADRID:OHL), which fell 1.59% or 0.255 points to trade at 15.740 at the close. Inditex (MADRID:ITX) declined 0.13% or 0.040 points to end at 29.955 and Jazztel (MADRID:JAZ) was down 0.04% or 0.005 points to 12.975.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 164 to 43 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Obrascon Huarte Lain (MADRID:OHL) fell to 52-week lows; losing 1.59% or 0.255 to 15.740.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.75% or 8.80 to $1186.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.43% or 0.86 to hit $61.00 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.10% or 0.71 to trade at $65.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1295, while EUR/GBP fell 0.59% to 0.7291.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.38% at 94.80.
