Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Services and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 1.11% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Banco Popular (MC:POP), which rose 8.85% or 0.061 points to trade at 0.750 at the close. Meanwhile, International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG) added 5.69% or 0.384 points to end at 7.132 and Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) was up 4.20% or 0.290 points to 7.200 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ferrovial (MC:FER), which fell 2.06% or 0.415 points to trade at 19.730 at the close. Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) declined 0.60% or 0.075 points to end at 12.400 and Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) was down 0.59% or 0.150 points to 25.200.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 116 to 67 and 17 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.06% or 0.79 to $1229.39 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.16% or 0.53 to hit $46.05 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.01% or 0.49 to trade at $48.87 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.08% to 1.0993, while EUR/GBP fell 0.16% to 0.8485.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 98.53.
