Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Financial Services & Real Estate and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 1.11%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which rose 3.35% or 0.365 points to trade at 11.260 at the close. Meanwhile, Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) added 2.54% or 0.117 points to end at 4.730 and Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) was up 2.35% or 0.077 points to 3.346 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE), which fell 2.17% or 0.835 points to trade at 37.635 at the close. Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) declined 0.75% or 0.330 points to end at 43.750 and Endesa (MC:ELE) was down 0.30% or 0.060 points to 19.855.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 127 to 44 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.35% or 0.077 to 3.346.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.27% or 3.25 to $1196.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.70% or 0.37 to hit $52.64 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.50% or 0.28 to trade at $55.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.24% to 1.0637, while EUR/GBP fell 0.16% to 0.8712.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.23% at 101.23.
