Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms & IT, Building & Construction and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.77% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which rose 3.38% or 0.385 points to trade at 11.780 at the close. Meanwhile, Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) added 3.09% or 0.650 points to end at 21.680 and ACS Const. (MC:ACS) was up 2.56% or 0.775 points to 31.025 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Enagas (MC:ENAG), which fell 1.82% or 0.425 points to trade at 22.900 at the close. Merlin Properties SA (MC:MRL) declined 0.46% or 0.05 points to end at 10.79 and Melia Hotels (MC:MEL) was down 0.40% or 0.050 points to 12.550.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 95 to 65 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.09% or 0.650 to 21.680. Shares in ACS Const. (MC:ACS) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.56% or 0.775 to 31.025.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.18% or 2.15 to $1229.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.10% or 0.05 to hit $48.80 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.04% or 0.02 to trade at $51.76 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.16% to 1.0749, while EUR/GBP fell 0.41% to 0.8675.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 100.07.
