Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Building & Construction and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.56%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which rose 3.06% or 0.204 points to trade at 6.870 at the close. Meanwhile, Gas Natural (MC:GAS) added 2.48% or 0.520 points to end at 21.525 and Acerinox (MC:ACX) was up 2.17% or 0.260 points to 12.240 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Popular (MC:POP), which fell 6.25% or 0.047 points to trade at 0.705 at the close. Indra A (MC:IDR) declined 1.11% or 0.135 points to end at 12.065 and Bankinter (MC:BKT) was down 0.64% or 0.054 points to 8.386.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 113 to 68 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gas Natural (MC:GAS) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.48% or 0.520 to 21.525.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.30% or 3.74 to $1231.44 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.78% or 1.33 to hit $49.17 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.54% or 1.29 to trade at $52.13 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.37% to 1.0972, while EUR/GBP rose 0.26% to 0.8500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 98.81.
