Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms & IT, Building & Construction and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.50% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which rose 2.87% or 0.156 points to trade at 5.595 at the close. Meanwhile, Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) added 1.79% or 0.580 points to end at 32.920 and ACS Const. (MC:ACS) was up 1.73% or 0.450 points to 26.500 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grifols SA (MC:GRLS), which fell 0.67% or 0.130 points to trade at 19.260 at the close. Viscofan (MC:VIS) declined 0.32% or 0.160 points to end at 49.635 and International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (MC:ICAG) was down 0.26% or 0.012 points to 4.685.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 125 to 58 and 30 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.21% or 2.80 to $1330.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.36% or 1.04 to hit $45.19 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.64% or 0.77 to trade at $47.60 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1151, while EUR/GBP fell 0.32% to 0.8373.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 95.73.
