Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Building & Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.36%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Banco Popular (MC:POP), which rose 4.75% or 0.055 points to trade at 1.213 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Santander (MC:SAN) added 2.34% or 0.092 points to end at 4.020 and Mapfre (MC:MAP) was up 2.24% or 0.053 points to 2.423 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which fell 3.62% or 0.199 points to trade at 5.301 at the close. International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (MC:ICAG) declined 2.10% or 0.097 points to end at 4.512 and Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) was down 1.80% or 0.755 points to 41.195.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 104 to 80 and 24 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.36% or 4.75 to $1311.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.43% or 1.59 to hit $44.76 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 3.43% or 1.67 to trade at $47.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.18% to 1.1163, while EUR/GBP fell 0.28% to 0.8495.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.08% at 95.97.
