Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.20%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which rose 2.62% or 0.525 points to trade at 20.590 at the close. Meanwhile, Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) added 1.72% or 0.089 points to end at 5.268 and Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) was up 1.22% or 0.22 points to 18.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ferrovial (MC:FER), which fell 0.93% or 0.175 points to trade at 18.700 at the close. Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) declined 0.56% or 0.190 points to end at 33.865 and Melia Hotels (MC:MEL) was down 0.54% or 0.070 points to 12.800.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 104 to 60 and 24 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.17% or 2.04 to $1211.74 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.57% or 0.25 to hit $44.48 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.51% or 0.24 to trade at $46.95 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.1396, while EUR/GBP rose 0.10% to 0.8853.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 95.84.
