Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Telecoms & IT and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.17%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols SA (MC:GRLS), which rose 2.67% or 0.560 points to trade at 21.565 at the close. Meanwhile, Gas Natural (MC:GAS) added 1.28% or 0.245 points to end at 19.385 and Bankia (MC:BKIA) was up 1.12% or 0.012 points to 1.085 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG), which fell 2.72% or 0.176 points to trade at 6.300 at the close. Merlin Properties SA (MC:MRL) declined 1.85% or 0.20 points to end at 10.36 and Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) was down 1.75% or 0.27 points to 15.17.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 89 to 77 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bankia (MC:BKIA) rose to 52-week highs; rising 1.12% or 0.012 to 1.085.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.26% or 3.25 to $1249.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.29% or 0.14 to hit $48.10 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.41% or 0.21 to trade at $50.75 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.0810, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.8661.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 99.41.
