Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 1.91%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Banco Santander (MC:SAN), which rose 3.35% or 0.179 points to trade at 5.523 at the close. Meanwhile, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM) added 3.31% or 0.410 points to end at 12.780 and Mapfre (MC:MAP) was up 3.15% or 0.089 points to 2.914 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE), which rose 0.54% or 0.155 points to trade at 28.850 at the close. Iberdrola (MC:IBE) added 0.57% or 0.039 points to end at 6.929 and Ferrovial (MC:FER) was up 0.65% or 0.125 points to 19.380.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 136 to 39 and 19 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.02% or 13.80 to $1337.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.45% or 0.69 to hit $48.17 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.04% or 0.02 to trade at $53.80 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.61% to 1.1962, while EUR/GBP fell 0.49% to 0.9076.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.58% at 91.84.
