Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Building & Construction, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.37%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which rose 4.62% or 0.550 points to trade at 12.460 at the close. Meanwhile, Melia Hotels (MC:MEL) added 2.61% or 0.290 points to end at 11.400 and Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) was up 2.20% or 0.198 points to 9.208 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Indra A (MC:IDR), which fell 2.18% or 0.240 points to trade at 10.770 at the close. Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) declined 1.23% or 0.320 points to end at 25.740 and Repsol (MC:REP) was down 1.04% or 0.145 points to 13.825.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 104 to 78 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 1.57% or 20.90 to $1351.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.42% or 0.25 to hit $59.44 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.54% or 0.34 to trade at $63.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.45% to 1.2408, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.8881.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.48% at 89.17.
