Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.33%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Indra A (MC:IDR), which rose 2.93% or 0.280 points to trade at 9.840 at the close. Meanwhile, Acciona (MC:ANA) added 2.23% or 1.680 points to end at 77.000 and Telefonica (MC:TEF) was up 1.59% or 0.108 points to 6.888 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bankia SA (MC:BKIA), which fell 2.16% or 0.078 points to trade at 3.539 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) declined 1.48% or 0.410 points to end at 27.300 and B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) was down 1.13% or 0.016 points to 1.401.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 94 to 85 and 21 ended unchanged.
Shares in Acciona (MC:ANA) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.23% or 1.680 to 77.000.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.54% or 6.50 to $1198.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.61% or 0.44 to hit $71.84 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.21% or 0.17 to trade at $81.09 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.16% to 1.1748, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8918.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 93.85.
