Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Building & Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Inditex (MC:ITX), which rose 4.11% or 1.050 points to trade at 26.570 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) added 2.71% or 0.665 points to end at 25.190 and Repsol (MC:REP) was up 2.27% or 0.380 points to 17.125 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which fell 2.45% or 0.310 points to trade at 12.350 at the close. Naturgy Energy Group SA (MC:GAS) declined 2.43% or 0.580 points to end at 23.270 and Endesa (MC:ELE) was down 1.67% or 0.320 points to 18.850.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 92 to 76 and 27 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.61% or 7.30 to $1209.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.81% or 1.25 to hit $70.50 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.78% or 0.62 to trade at $79.68 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.17% to 1.1626, while EUR/GBP rose 0.13% to 0.8917.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 94.83.
