Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Financial Services & Real Estate and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.23% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which rose 3.94% or 0.535 points to trade at 14.115 at the close. Meanwhile, Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) added 2.75% or 0.710 points to end at 26.540 and Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) was up 2.31% or 0.530 points to 23.510 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX), which fell 3.72% or 0.87 points to trade at 22.49 at the close. Ferrovial (MC:FER) declined 1.03% or 0.185 points to end at 17.710 and Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) was down 0.88% or 0.034 points to 3.830.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 112 to 68 and 31 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.40% or 5.30 to $1323.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.09% or 0.06 to hit $68.25 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.23% or 0.17 to trade at $74.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.03% to 1.2108, while EUR/GBP rose 1.01% to 0.8784.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 91.43.
