BERLIN (Reuters) - Siemens shareholder and employee representatives want to extend the contract of Chief Executive Roland Busch and offer him a second term in office, German business daily Handelsblatt reported on Tuesday.

His contract runs until the end of March 2025 and a formal decision is expected in spring or summer, wrote the paper.

Investors also support an extension before next week's shareholder meeting, wrote the paper.

"In our view, Mr Busch is welcome to stay on," said fund manager Vera Diehl of Union Investment. "He has done a good job as CEO," she was quoted by Handelsblatt as saying.

No-one at Siemens responded immediately to an emailed request to comment.
