Investing.com – Saudi Arabia stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Energy & Utilities, Insurance and Media & Publishing sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Saudi Arabia, the Tadawul All Share lost 1.41%.
The best performers of the session on the Tadawul All Share were AL-BABTAIN POWER &TELECOM CO (TADAWUL:2320), which rose 7.77% or 3.30 points to trade at 45.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Retal Urban Development Company SJSC (TADAWUL:4322) added 5.32% or 0.47 points to end at 9.30 and Tanmiah Food Company SCJSC (TADAWUL:2281) was up 5.15% or 7.00 points to 143.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gulf Union Cooperative Insurance (TADAWUL:8120), which fell 10.00% or 2.52 points to trade at 22.68 at the close. Allied Cooperative Insurance Group SJSC (TADAWUL:8150) declined 8.13% or 1.68 points to end at 18.98 and Al Etihad Cooperative Insurance Co SJSC (TADAWUL:8170) was down 7.98% or 2.25 points to 25.95.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Saudi Arabia Stock Exchange by 229 to 61 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in AL-BABTAIN POWER &TELECOM CO (TADAWUL:2320) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 7.77% or 3.30 to 45.75.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.75% or 0.59 to $79.58 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.67% or 0.56 to hit $84.14 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.53% or 12.20 to trade at $2,334.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/SAR was up 0.15% to 4.04, while USD/SAR unchanged 0.00% to 3.75.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 105.29.
