Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 2.32% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 2.31% or 0.0030 points to trade at 0.1330 at the close. Meanwhile, Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) added 1.03% or 0.0060 points to end at 0.5880 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was up 0.43% or 0.0070 points to 1.6300 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sonae (LS:YSO), which fell 4.54% or 0.0370 points to trade at 0.7780 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 4.46% or 0.0009 points to end at 0.0193 and EDP (LS:EDP) was down 3.65% or 0.1040 points to 2.7430.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 37 to 9 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sonae (LS:YSO) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.54% or 0.0370 to 0.7780. Shares in Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) fell to all time lows; down 4.46% or 0.0009 to 0.0193.
Brent oil for August delivery was down 1.41% or 0.71 to $49.64 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.13% or 0.55 to hit $48.33 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.13% or 1.65 to trade at $1285.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.74% to 1.1208, while EUR/GBP rose 0.08% to 0.7929.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.61% at 95.00.
