Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 2.30%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were EDP Renovaveis (LISBON:EDPRu), which rose 0.80% or 0.0540 points to trade at 6.7810 at the close. Meanwhile, Portucel (LISBON:PTI) added 0.67% or 0.0245 points to end at 3.6845 and REN (LISBON:RENE) was down 0.26% or 0.0070 points to 2.7280 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA), which fell 7.03% or 0.1665 points to trade at 2.2035 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP) declined 6.57% or 0.0045 points to end at 0.0640 and Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA) was down 6.50% or 0.0210 points to 0.3020.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 48 to 13 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA) fell to all time lows; falling 6.50% or 0.0210 to 0.3020.
Brent oil for September delivery was down 1.16% or 0.57 to $49.02 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.79% or 0.81 to hit $44.34 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.63% or 6.80 to trade at $1092.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.23% to 1.0930, while EUR/GBP rose 0.74% to 0.7042.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 97.86.
