Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Utilities, Consumer Services and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 1.46%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 3.13% or 0.0070 points to trade at 0.2310 at the close. Meanwhile, CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) added 1.12% or 0.0730 points to end at 6.5800 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 1.08% or 0.0002 points to 0.0187 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EDP (LS:EDP), which fell 3.30% or 0.1010 points to trade at 2.9590 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 2.96% or 0.1020 points to end at 3.3440 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was down 2.47% or 0.0180 points to 0.7120.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 33 to 10 and 9 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for November delivery was down 3.16% or 1.58 to $48.41 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.86% or 1.36 to hit $46.26 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.41% or 5.55 to trade at $1336.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.40% to 1.1214, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.8455.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.42% at 95.44.
