Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.14% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae (LS:YSO), which rose 3.08% or 0.0230 points to trade at 0.7690 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 2.96% or 0.0910 points to end at 3.1650 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) was up 1.39% or 0.0810 points to 5.9040 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 8.33% or 0.0190 points to trade at 0.2090 at the close. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) declined 2.22% or 0.3300 points to end at 14.5500 and EDP (LS:EDP) was down 1.24% or 0.0330 points to 2.6370.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 28 to 20 and 5 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for January delivery was down 2.12% or 0.95 to $43.80 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.12% or 0.92 to hit $42.49 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.06% or 0.70 to trade at $1225.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.00% to 1.0745, while EUR/GBP fell 0.26% to 0.8606.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.97% at 99.95.
