Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 2.15%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 6.15% or 0.0011 points to trade at 0.0190 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 5.74% or 0.1640 points to end at 3.0210 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) was up 5.51% or 0.0070 points to 0.1340 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which fell 4.92% or 0.0290 points to trade at 0.5610 at the close. Montepio (LS:MPIO) declined 4.80% or 0.026 points to end at 0.516 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was down 0.20% or 0.0150 points to 7.5010.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 39 to 7 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Montepio (LS:MPIO) fell to all time lows; falling 4.80% or 0.026 to 0.516.
Brent oil for August delivery was up 3.35% or 1.58 to $48.77 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 3.01% or 1.39 to hit $47.60 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.40% or 5.15 to trade at $1293.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.41% to 1.1272, while EUR/GBP fell 0.39% to 0.7873.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.44% at 94.35.
