Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 1.89% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 4.38% or 0.0083 points to trade at 0.1979 at the close. Meanwhile, Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 3.95% or 0.0700 points to end at 1.8400 and EDP (LS:EDP) was up 2.60% or 0.0800 points to 3.1530 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Montepio (LS:MPIO), which fell 0.24% or 0.001 points to trade at 0.420 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) declined 0.04% or 0.0020 points to end at 5.1000 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) was up 0.14% or 0.0100 points to 6.9100.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 25 to 12 and 7 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for June delivery was up 0.78% or 0.41 to $52.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.37% or 0.68 to hit $50.19 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.42% or 5.30 to trade at $1248.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.38% to 1.0724, while EUR/GBP fell 0.87% to 0.8584.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 100.00.
