Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 1.70%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which rose 3.94% or 0.2390 points to trade at 6.2990 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 3.28% or 0.1010 points to end at 3.1820 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) was up 2.95% or 0.235 points to 8.201 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 0.81% or 0.0020 points to trade at 0.2460 at the close. Montepio (LS:MPIO) unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to end at 0.437 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) was up 0.09% or 0.0010 points to 1.1290.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 44 to 8 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Montepio (LS:MPIO) unchanged to all time lows; unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 to 0.437.
Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.18% or 0.08 to $45.66 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.61% or 0.27 to hit $44.34 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.81% or 23.55 to trade at $1280.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.96% to 1.1033, while EUR/GBP rose 0.04% to 0.8906.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.94% at 97.85.
