Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Telecoms and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.83%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which rose 4.99% or 0.1450 points to trade at 3.0510 at the close. Meanwhile, Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) added 4.81% or 0.0050 points to end at 0.1090 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) was up 3.02% or 0.0760 points to 2.5900 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Montepio (LS:MPIO), which fell 0.99% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.501 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) declined 0.93% or 0.0660 points to end at 7.0480 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) was down 0.81% or 0.0090 points to 1.0990.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 32 to 12 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Montepio (LS:MPIO) fell to all time lows; losing 0.99% or 0.005 to 0.501.
Brent oil for September delivery was down 0.02% or 0.01 to $49.70 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $48.32 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 1.41% or 18.65 to trade at $1339.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.45% to 1.1155, while EUR/GBP rose 0.79% to 0.8400.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.35% at 95.61.
