Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.49% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 2.49% or 0.0400 points to trade at 1.6490 at the close. Meanwhile, Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) added 2.47% or 0.1340 points to end at 5.5670 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was up 2.07% or 0.0170 points to 0.8390 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 7.43% or 0.0260 points to trade at 0.3240 at the close. Montepio (LS:MPIO) declined 4.42% or 0.019 points to end at 0.411 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was down 0.99% or 0.1350 points to 13.5500.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 20 to 15 and 5 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for April delivery was up 1.19% or 0.67 to $56.85 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.51% or 0.81 to hit $54.59 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.02% or 0.25 to trade at $1239.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.61% to 1.0547, while EUR/GBP fell 0.69% to 0.8460.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.46% at 101.38.
