Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.26% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR), which rose 2.34% or 0.1370 points to trade at 5.9900 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP (LS:EDP) added 1.77% or 0.0500 points to end at 2.8750 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was up 1.70% or 0.1020 points to 6.0900 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which fell 12.38% or 0.1597 points to trade at 1.1305 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 3.03% or 0.0060 points to end at 0.1920 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was down 0.99% or 0.0080 points to 0.8020.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 20 to 19 and 2 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for February delivery was up 0.41% or 0.23 to $55.92 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.61% or 0.32 to hit $53.15 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.60% or 7.05 to trade at $1158.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.08% to 1.0628, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.8385.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 101.05.
