Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Chemicals and Media sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 1.88%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN), which rose 0.80% or 0.55 points to trade at 69.66 at the close. Meanwhile, Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) added 0.39% or 0.010 points to end at 2.580 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) was up 0.38% or 0.65 points to 170.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which fell 5.98% or 2.34 points to trade at 36.78 at the close. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) declined 5.60% or 4.04 points to end at 68.14 and mBank SA (WA:MBK) was down 4.91% or 15.75 points to 305.25.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 328 to 179 and 168 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) fell to 52-week lows; losing 5.60% or 4.04 to 68.14.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.99% or 0.49 to $49.82 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.46% or 0.23 to hit $50.59 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.05% or 0.55 to trade at $1217.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.32% to 4.3842, while USD/PLN fell 0.33% to 3.9352.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 95.74.
