Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Telecoms and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 1.85% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR), which rose 1.28% or 0.88 points to trade at 69.48 at the close. Meanwhile, Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) added 0.70% or 0.38 points to end at 54.47 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) was up 0.18% or 0.30 points to 170.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which fell 4.51% or 261.40 points to trade at 5538.60 at the close. Energa SA (WA:ENGP) declined 4.30% or 0.53 points to end at 11.80 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) was down 4.24% or 3.11 points to 70.28.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 333 to 199 and 162 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.37% or 0.16 to $43.81 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.31% or 0.14 to hit $44.83 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.85% or 10.95 to trade at $1280.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.08% to 4.3984, while USD/PLN rose 0.14% to 3.8272.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.25% at 93.25.
