Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Banking and Food sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.71%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 2.59% or 1.79 points to trade at 70.79 at the close. Meanwhile, LPP SA (WA:LPPP) added 2.51% or 128.00 points to end at 5218.00 and Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) was up 1.28% or 0.07 points to 5.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP), which fell 3.94% or 6.85 points to trade at 166.95 at the close. Synthos SA (WA:SNS) declined 3.14% or 0.190 points to end at 5.860 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was down 2.46% or 0.59 points to 23.40.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 298 to 246 and 202 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.09% or 0.05 to $53.83 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.18% or 0.10 to hit $56.90 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.89% or 10.75 to trade at $1219.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.31% to 4.3172, while USD/PLN rose 0.03% to 3.9986.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 99.54.
