Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Telecoms and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.55% to hit a new all time low.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were CCC SA (WA:CCCP), which rose 2.56% or 3.80 points to trade at 152.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW) added 1.79% or 1.29 points to end at 73.41 and Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) was up 1.26% or 0.64 points to 51.39 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGHM), which fell 5.67% or 4.92 points to trade at 81.83 at the close. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) declined 4.28% or 4.44 points to end at 99.21 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) was down 3.43% or 0.55 points to 15.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 313 to 274 and 105 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 2.68% or 1.15 to $41.78 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 2.45% or 1.14 to hit $45.47 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.53% or 5.70 to trade at $1079.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.46% to 4.2341, while USD/PLN rose 0.18% to 3.9291.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.18% at 98.88.
