Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Oil & Gas and Information Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.36%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW), which rose 2.12% or 2.11 points to trade at 101.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) added 1.83% or 0.21 points to end at 11.70 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) was up 1.45% or 1.60 points to 111.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN), which fell 3.74% or 0.26 points to trade at 6.69 at the close. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) declined 3.31% or 2.80 points to end at 81.80 and Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) was down 2.54% or 0.16 points to 6.14.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 292 to 285 and 96 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.94% or 0.57 to $60.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 1.38% or 0.88 to hit $64.22 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.59% or 7.00 to trade at $1177.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.05% to 4.1639, while USD/PLN rose 1.41% to 3.7264.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.10% at 95.56.
