Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Banking and Media sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.35%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN), which rose 2.65% or 1.80 points to trade at 69.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) added 1.81% or 0.12 points to end at 6.75 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) was up 1.81% or 1.55 points to 87.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which fell 3.57% or 261.50 points to trade at 7065.00 at the close. KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) declined 2.16% or 2.80 points to end at 127.10 and Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) was down 1.92% or 7.35 points to 374.60.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 315 to 249 and 106 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.66% or 0.39 to $59.00 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.22% or 0.81 to hit $65.36 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.71% or 8.40 to trade at $1180.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.69% to 4.0747, while USD/PLN rose 1.26% to 3.6581.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.30% at 95.19.
