Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.29%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW), which rose 3.29% or 2.83 points to trade at 88.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) added 3.24% or 1.70 points to end at 54.10 and Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) was up 3.15% or 0.22 points to 7.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which fell 7.67% or 3.73 points to trade at 44.87 at the close. Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) declined 2.68% or 10.73 points to end at 389.57 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGHM) was down 2.29% or 2.19 points to 93.28.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 309 to 273 and 110 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.24% or 1.70 to 54.10. Shares in Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.15% or 0.22 to 7.20.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 3.04% or 1.51 to $48.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 2.78% or 1.47 to hit $51.44 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.58% or 6.70 to trade at $1162.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.02% to 4.2213, while USD/PLN fell 0.09% to 3.7124.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 94.81.
