Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Oil & Gas and Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which rose 6.68% or 2.55 points to trade at 40.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) added 5.55% or 3.94 points to end at 74.87 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) was up 3.90% or 2.74 points to 72.92 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO), which fell 6.60% or 8.90 points to trade at 125.90 at the close. Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) declined 3.19% or 1.57 points to end at 47.68 and mBank SA (WA:MBK) was down 2.65% or 8.20 points to 301.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 253 to 213 and 204 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO) fell to 3-years lows; falling 6.60% or 8.90 to 125.90.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 3.87% or 1.81 to $44.99 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 4.09% or 1.98 to hit $46.49 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.60% or 8.05 to trade at $1343.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.49% to 4.4160, while USD/PLN rose 0.03% to 3.9737.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.41% at 96.15.
