Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Food and Media sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which rose 3.17% or 0.09 points to trade at 2.93 at the close. Meanwhile, KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) added 2.46% or 1.83 points to end at 76.17 and Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) was up 2.27% or 1.01 points to 45.51 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were mBank SA (WA:MBK), which fell 3.57% or 11.85 points to trade at 319.85 at the close. Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) declined 2.54% or 1.33 points to end at 51.05 and Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) was down 2.15% or 1.20 points to 54.60.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 290 to 238 and 176 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.79% or 0.76 to $43.23 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 1.82% or 0.80 to hit $44.83 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.09% or 1.10 to trade at $1255.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.30% to 4.2835, while USD/PLN fell 0.05% to 3.7808.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 94.25.
