Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Energy, Telecoms and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.10%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which rose 2.91% or 166.00 points to trade at 5880.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) added 2.49% or 1.89 points to end at 77.86 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) was up 2.29% or 1.40 points to 62.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR), which fell 2.74% or 1.33 points to trade at 47.15 at the close. Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) declined 2.04% or 0.12 points to end at 5.77 and Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) was down 1.95% or 0.79 points to 39.76.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 288 to 236 and 197 ended unchanged.
Shares in Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.49% or 1.89 to 77.86.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 3.18% or 1.55 to $47.15 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 3.43% or 1.74 to hit $48.94 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.07% or 0.95 to trade at $1275.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.62% to 4.3095, while USD/PLN fell 0.56% to 3.9259.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 98.36.
