Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Telecoms and Energy sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.10%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Synthos SA (WA:SNS), which rose 2.26% or 0.10 points to trade at 4.52 at the close. Meanwhile, Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) added 1.99% or 0.44 points to end at 22.59 and Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) was up 1.95% or 0.58 points to 30.38 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR), which fell 3.13% or 2.72 points to trade at 84.28 at the close. Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) declined 2.18% or 0.09 points to end at 4.03 and Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) was down 1.68% or 1.00 points to 58.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 280 to 265 and 117 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.60% or 1.38 to $51.66 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 2.07% or 1.22 to hit $57.47 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.73% or 8.40 to trade at $1145.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.02% to 4.1310, while USD/PLN rose 0.41% to 3.7671.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.44% at 97.23.
