Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Chemicals, Telecoms and Energy sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.77%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN), which rose 3.15% or 0.18 points to trade at 5.89 at the close. Meanwhile, Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) added 2.10% or 1.00 points to end at 48.55 and Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) was up 1.25% or 0.50 points to 40.54 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which fell 2.62% or 0.060 points to trade at 2.230 at the close. Kruk SA (WA:KRU) declined 2.50% or 5.00 points to end at 195.00 and Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) was down 2.24% or 1.50 points to 65.40.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 250 to 181 and 167 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kruk SA (WA:KRU) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.50% or 5.00 to 195.00.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.28% or 0.21 to $73.94 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.69% or 1.34 to hit $77.89 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.78% or 9.80 to trade at $1244.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.75% to 4.4039, while USD/PLN rose 1.40% to 3.7932.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.57% at 94.77.
